When Liquid Becomes Form, 2024
Medium: Porcelain
Public Art Installation
Location: Läutraquelle Ilm Park, Weimar

The exhibition presents 21 handcrafted porcelain Waterdrop sculptures, each reflecting the delicate balance between fragility and strength. The development of the sculpting technique evolved over two years, with every piece embodying the precision, patience, and dedication required for this intricate craft.

Formed from liquid porcelain slip and then solidified, the Waterdrops capture the tension between vulnerability and resilience that defines the artistic process. Much like water’s capacity to shift and adapt, the act of creation is one of fluidity, uncertainty, and transformation. Each sculpture embodies persistence and growth.

Installed in Ilm Park, Leutraquelle, Weimar, the work invites visitors to encounter the sculptures within their natural environment, allowing material and landscape to resonate with one another.

The exhibition is accompanied by two publications: a diary spanning January 1 to May 21, 2024, tracing the evolution of the creative process, and a photobook documenting the making of the porcelain sculptures in the workshop.
